A HALF-day course looking at the latest developments in the laws that affect journalists working in online, print or broadcast media
Topics to be covered include:
· Reporting restrictions and sexual offence anonymity,
· Contempt of court – guidance on recent prosecutions – what is it safe to publish now?
· Latest developments in libel, including recent cases and the effect of libel reforms of the Defamation act 2016
· Copyright
· Social media
· RooneyVardyGate
· Harry and Meghan
· Plus, the latest on Brexit and its ramifications for UK reporting and legal protections for publishers and broadcasters
The session will take the form of a presentation and short workshop with plenty of opportunities for discussion of individual issues or concerns.
Slides and supporting notes will be made available to those attending on the day.

You are only eligible to register for this course if you live and/or work in Wales because it is funded by Welsh Government.
