What’s it about?
There’s no escaping the impact of AI. But should journalists and content creators embrace it or avoid it? This hands-on morning will put YOU in the driving seat, using a toolkit of free online tools to explore what AI can – and can’t – do, with the aim of helping you decide how AI might be used responsibly and productively in your own work.
The training will be face-to-face, so you have help on hand and a chance to meet and network with other professionals as you learn this new technology and its capabilities together.
Aimed at journalists, comms professionals and creators with limited knowledge of AI, the training will explain how to approach generative AI for drafting copy, including the use of prompts and image creation tools – using explainer articles as a working example. Free tools for transcribing, adding subtitles, enhancing images, summarising, rewriting, researching and even creating instant podcasts with AI hosts are also included.
We’ll touch on platforms such as ChatGPT and Deepseek, but spotlight an AI search tool called Perplexity, which has gained a reputation for transparency and flexibility.
A handy online toolkit will be shared on the day.
