Trainer – Dan Mason
What’s it about?
If you’ve been wondering whether to take the plunge with a website of your own, this hour-long course will help you get there. In this introductory session we’ll cover the basics of WordPress, a brilliant platform both for beginners looking for a simple way to start, and those who want to end up with a more advanced website. Perhaps you’re looking for an online portfolio, or a website for a small business, stand-alone project, organisation or even for a client. If you’re not sure where to start with WordPress or you got stuck along the way, this is the course for you.
In an hour, we will touch on low-cost options for hosting, themes, plugins and customisation, adding a few tips on essential design elements for your freelance or service website. A PDF toolkit will be shared on the day with more information on the topics covered.
For information, the WordPress theme we’ll use for demonstration on the day is called Astra (wpastra.com) – a very popular free and premium WordPress theme.
Who’s it for?
Creatives new to WordPress or who would like a refresher on the basics.
What equipment will I need?
A laptop or desktop computer with reliable internet connection and access to Zoom. No access to a WordPress website is required.
